A trip planning app born from my desire for a more engaging experience organizing my future trips around the world.

Photo of the Explore screen in Chronacle. In its empty state, there is a grid of tilted photos of different cities. Each photo has a hero image of the respective city and its name at the bottom. There is a header bar at the top that says Explore, and says 'Add a destination' in grey underneath it. Bottom left half of an iPhone mockup showing a modal for a new trip. The trip location is Tokyo, Japan, and there is a button underneath that says 'Let's Go' Two iPhone screens side by side, the first of which says New York City and provides an overview of New York alongside a small photo of the skyline. The second screen has a list of New York landmarks, each with a photo and rating out of 5. Two iPhone mockups. The first shows the Search page for places in a given location; results include a list of places and filters for refinement. The other mockup shows a specific establishment's page, including a description, address, contact info, and photos.

As a Design Intern at Snap Inc., I crafted a potential partnership with LA Metro that included a Snapchat feature aimed at incentivizing public transit usage.

A mockup of a Metro transit card in collaboration with Snapchat. The card is Snap's company yellow color, with the company's ghost logo in the center. Inside the ghost is a black and white collage of photos that represent Metro, like bus stop signs and a transit map. A mockup of a chat screen inside Snapchat. The screen shows the user receiving messages from Team Snapchat about a new feature called Transit Score made in collaboration with Metro. The message says users can use Snapchat to show themselves using transit around LA and receive special rewards from Metro. There is an image of a snap code placed on a wall with a person standing in front of it, and the user is informed about special Snapchat QR codes at transit stations. Two iPhone screens showing a Snapchat user's profile. The first screen shows that user Ashley Long has a Transit Score of 28. The second screen shows a modal that opens when the Transit Score is clicked; the modal simply shows the user how many Metro-branded snaps they've sent, as well as their transit score. iPhone screen showing an advertisement on Snapchat. The ad has a yellow background with a Snapchat-branded Metro card in the center of it. It has text saying, 'Order your limited edition Snap x Metro Tap Card and add 300 points to your Transit Score.' At the bottom, there is a link to a Snap and Metro collaboration website.

As a Design Intern at Snap Inc., I helped imagine a Snapchat feature addressing the unique challenges faced by underprivileged teens and young adults in their academic journeys.

Slide with mockups of Achieve AI and Pods. The Achieve AI mockup shows a prompt component that allows a user to choose something the AI can help them with. The Pods one shows a Pomodoro Timer within the Pods chat screen. A slide titled 'Pods'. Underneath that is sentence that says, 'Virtual study groups where students can connect, be productive, and hold each other accountable for goals.' To the right of the text is a group of 3 separate Bitmoji studying in their rooms. Photo of myself and my group on stage presenting our feature during the official Final Showcase.

Garnish

Since Fall 2023

A mess-free recipe finding app.

The image shows three iPhone screens displaying a cooking app named Garnish. The first screen prompts the user to sign in using Apple or email. The second screen presents a recipe with ingredients and instructions, along with a picture of a pasta dish. The third screen allows users to customize their flavor profile by selecting preferred cuisines, dietary preferences, and allergens. The app aims to recommend recipes based on user preferences. The image shows two iPhone screens displaying the
Build Your Flavor Profile section of a cooking app.
Both screens allow users to select preferred cuisines
(e.g., American, Mexican, Chinese) and dietary preferences
                (e.g., Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy Free).
The left screen shows all options unselected,
while the right screen shows American and Vegetarian selected. App screen featuring a 'New Recipes' section with an
image of 'Spicy Peanut Soup with Sweet Potato' prominently shown.
The app's navigation bar at the bottom includes icons for search,
a book for the recipe list, a calendar for the meal planner,
and a gear for settings. The text 'See all' appears in the upper right corner,
indicating there are more recipes to view. The image shows mockups of two iPhone screens. The first screen is a blank loading screen for an in-app browser. The second screen is a loaded webpage; the website is Bon Apetit and shows a recipe for Fusilli Alla Vodka with Basil and Parmesan. Text on the screen includes, “Bon Appétit. Fusilli Alla Vodka with Basil and Parmesan. By Jon & Vinny's, Los Angeles. Photography by Peden Munk. 4.8 star rating out of five stars based on 160 reviews.”

About

I'm a software designer and developer in Los Angeles, California. My focus is on visual and interaction design for web applications and native mobile apps.

One night during my Sophomore year of undergrad, I had trouble finding an app that could tell me what to cook with the random ingredients in my apartment. Feeling a bit powerless, I decided I needed to learn how to design and develop digital tools I think people might need/use.

Adding a minor in Web Development and Design helped me get started; years later, I've since been able to apply many of the research, design, and development skills that felt so foreign to me in my kitchen that night.
